I knit up this little cowl as a graduation present. (Please don’t mind my hair. It’s finals week. I got it cut already, I knew it was bad.) It’s the Incognito pattern from Knitty. I love Knitty. But I didn’t … Continue reading →
Happy Birthday, Dad! I decided to send this little birthday pun to my dad. On a piece of cake… made from a sponge. By hot gluing a piece of cardboard to piece of cake made from a sponge … Continue reading →
After I finished the baby sweater for Dee, I had a lot of yarn left over. So I decided to make matching booties and hat.
I love knitting the little, baby things. Both of the patterns I used knit up extremely quickly.
I selected this pattern, that’s free for download on Ravelry, because I think a lot of the baby bootie patterns scream girl and I wanted something a little more masculine.
Each bootie only took about an hour to knit once I got into the pattern. I highly recommend this pattern for either gender.
I love this hat pattern. It’s called the Baby Amanda Hat, and it is also free to download on Ravelry. I had just finished the full sized Amanda Hat pattern for Code Boyfriend’s mom, and I was struggling to find a masculine baby hat pattern. Why are they all boring or lacey?
While this hat is lacey, I don’t think the lace pattern makes it too girly, especially in the blue, gray and green colors. This hat also knits up fast. I only completed 2 repeats of the lace pattern on the second band of lace to decrease the depth of the hat.
I think the top is especially adorable as well.
I hope I’ve helped someone on their quest for masculine baby knitting patterns!
