Toaster Oven Pork Ribs

I got a new toy.

A Breville Compact Smart Oven. It’s a fancy toaster oven.

And as much as I would have like it, I was not given it, and all of my opinions are my own, with no influence from anyone else.

That being said, it’s a fun toy. It works as a toaster, which is important in a toaster oven. But it also holds its own as an oven. I have found that it doesn’t get as hot as my full sized oven, but it makes up for it with the fact that it heats up well over twice as fast.

To play with my new toy, I wanted to make pork ribs. Now, I know a lot of people may disagree with me, but I think the oven turns out some really nice tender ribs.

I also live in an apartment, so grilling them wasn’t really an option. If you have convenient access to a grill, just throw your ribs on a hot grill for about 5-10 minutes after the oven to get a char. But I thought they were just as good without it.

Lay your ribs on a large piece of aluminum foil, and rub the sugar and spices all over it.

Completely wrap the ribs in the foil, leaving a small opening at one corner. Pour 1/4 cup of water or stock into the foil pouch. This will keep the ribs super tender and moist.  Place in a 350 degree toaster oven, or oven.

Roast the ribs for 2-3 hours, until the meat pulls away from the bones. Serve with your favorite barbecue sauce.
